welcome to city streets and fashion weeks

I have been back forth over the last few weeks trying to decide what I should put in my first blog post... Should I write about who I am and where I'm from? Should I write about why I started this blog? Or do I just dive head first into my travels and recent outfit options?
Being the indecisive person that I am, I ultimately decided I'll just do all three! So here we go.....
My name is Ashley Piomelli, I am the creator of city streets and fashion weeks. I am from a small town in New Jersey (number 1 on the turnpike to clarify for all of my jersey folks). I was raised by a very strong, very driven, single mom, whom instilled the importance of hard work,  perseverance, and never loosing site of what is truly important to you. She encouraged me to dream big and achieve greatness. my mom has been my biggest cheerleader, and I am truly blessed to have her.
Although Kar did a fantastic job raising me, she was not the only woman to shape me into the rockstar that you see today....Madelynn Grimner, my Mommom, my Mantra, my motivation, and quite frankly ME in 50 years...You started it all with one little word..."BLOOMIES"
Some of my favorite childhood memories took place hand and hand with my Mommom while strolling through  Bloomingdales, gazing at the designer must haves, learning important words (like chanel or charge it) and leaving with bags of beautiful dresses and little fur coats. Ahh heaven! Shopping wasn't the only trick my Mommom had taught me, she also taught me the value of a great pose and the importance of traveling  the globe!
There is a ton of other details about my life and how I got to where I am, but rather than bore you in my first post, I'll just save that for a later date and skip ahead to why I started the blog.... About a year ago I was blessed with the opportunity to escape retail and enter into the world of marketing and QSR technology (fashion to food was quite a significant change-culture wise and lifestyle wise). I started a job which led me to believe I'd be trapped in a cube with a face buried in photoshop and illustrator when much to my surprise (and a little begging) I get the opportunity to attend a trade show--this was supposed to be a one time deal--while at the show, I discovered something that I had always known was there but never truly acknowledged ---that I'm a pretty awesome sales person! My boss also came to this realization and gave me another opportunity to test the waters, during which I brought my A game and after continuous hard work and persseverance (and a really amazing boss) I got to where I am now--Living my dream: traveling the country, meeting new and exciting people, discovery new things about myself, and most importantly feeling truly fufilled. I am truly blessed to have found love and have managed to start an exciting career. None of this would have been possible without the support of all the people I love (Roberto, family, friends, bruiser) and the thirst for success!
Which brings me back to the blog...I decided to start city streets & fashion weeks because of the encouragement of others, my passion fashion, and because I take so many pics during my travels I might as well have a place to store them right ahah! I am not a professional writer so please take that with a grain of salt while scrolling through my blog, but I hope you enjoy it and maybe discover a new outfit or city that will spark your fancy!
